Local Attractions
While it isn't difficult to spend several days exploring Lunenburg we thought you might also enjoy learning a bit about some of the many other area attractions. Whether you walk, hike, bike, or drive there are new adventures and new discoveries just around the corner.
Of course if you ever find yourself needing a little help with directions or some friendly advice just ask one of the locals. You'll find Nova Scotia hospitality to be among the best...

Beaches
Looking to spend a day at the beach swimming, body-surfing, snorkeling, or just soaking up the sun? We have some great beaches in the area including Westhaver's in Mader's Cove, Bachman's in Second Peninsula, Hirtle's in Kingsburg, or Crescent and Risser's beaches near Petite Rivière.

Lunenburg is blessed more than just the exquisite landscape granted by Mother Nature. There is an exceptional trail system including the Bay to Bay Trail connecting the towns of Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. Not to mention the endless stretches of back roads that meander lazily around coves and inlets, nooks and crannies. Sign up with a tour, bring your bikes, or rent them once you arrive. |

Oak Island
Six lives have been lost and millions of dollars spent trying to uncover the secrets of what has become known as the Money Pit. Still, no one knows what lies at the bottom, who built it or why. This is the mystery of Oak Island, Nova Scotia. |

Oven's Park
The Ovens Natural Park so unique. Every year, thousands of park visitors hike the spectacular trails along the cliffs to view the famous sea caves, or "Ovens" for which the park was named. |

Peggy's Cove
Another example of spectacular coastline is to be found at Peggys' Cove reputedly named after the only survivor of a schooner that ran aground and sank in 1800...a woman named Margret. Local folk called her "Peggy" and her home came to be known as Peggy's Cove.
