Minutes of Lunenburg Board of Trade Annual General Meeting
November 19, 2019 at Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance

Introduction: 6:34pm: Introduction of Guest Speaker; Chris Daly, speaking on behalf of Don Bureaux,
Call to order: 7:13pm by President Tim Lekhi.
Approval of Agenda: (JM) (WW). Passed.
Approval of Minutes from 2018 AGM: (LS) (SCG) Passed. See appendix 1.
Financial Report: Lisa Mutch; Belliveau Veinotte reviewed and presented this year’s financial reports and deemed that our reports and records satisfied applicable Canadian accounting standards. She also gave definitions for terms like; financial Assets, capital assets, payables, receivables, income statement. 2018: revenue; $253,777 expenses; $252,812. Net income: $965. (See appendix 2) Lisa suggested that we might want to consider having an AGM in January. We are hearing reports from 2018. Our 2019 year was over October 31, 2019
Motion: by Lorne Spence to accept 2017 financial statements as read and presented. Seconded by Susan Corkum Greek. Motion carried.
Council Reports
Campground (TL): Improvements made to LBoT entrances, VIC (self serve booking kiosk, more efficient use of space). Additional washroom space and upgrades and lighting on stairs. Big improvement in relations with Folk Harbour committee and staff.
Festivals & Events (JM): One committee to coordinate many events (2 weekends of Yuletide).
Strategic Planning (LM): Did SWOT identification and created survey. Responses were beneficial in helping the LBoT define objectives; We are facilitators. Tools: networking, advocacy, encourage community activism.
Education (SW): LBoT, in cooperation with NS Department of Education held Business oriented classes mostly in the Lbot Boardroom during Winter and early spring of 2019. The response has been so good that classes resumed in the fall of 2019. More to come for Winter and Spring 2020. The Workplace Education Program has a class limit of 12 and generates revenue through grants.
Financial Upate 2019 (CB): Concerns: Decreasing membership, campground revenue down slightly. Projected deficit lower than earlier forecast ($2000 vs $16000).
Bylaws (CB)+(WM, MR, BT): Approval of change in bylaw 3.3
Motion (SW): to replace ‘death’ with ‘as long as dues are paid’ (CB). Passed.
Motion (LM): to accept bylaws with change made to 3.3 (AF). Passed.
Presentations (TL): Business of the Year – Lunenburg Walking Tours
Volunteer of the year – Rotary Club of Lunenburg
Pamela Baltzer, Past President, was honored for her steadfast and selfless devotion to the Lunenburg Board of Trade.

Motion: by Wilf Moore to accept the slate of Directors and Executive as presented. Seconded by Susan Corkum Greek. Passed.
Mayor Bailey: Mayor Rachel Bailey congratulated the new Council Executive and Directors
