Minutes of Lunenburg Board of Trade Council Meeting

5:15pm – February 10, 2020; at the LBoT Boardroom

Present:           Susan Corkum Greek, Jason Huskilson,  Lynne MacKay, Jamie Myra, Tim Reibling, Lorne Spence, Alicia Van de Sande, Willie Wells. Guest: Eva Ziegler. (Core Staff Report)

Regrets:  Tim Lekhi. Claude Baril, Gale Fullerton.

Background:    2019 was the first year for most members of the LBoT Council. It was also the first season for the Administrative Assistant and the VIC Campground Manager. That coupled with the amount of work that had to be done to prepare the facilities for the 2019 season made progress difficult at times and required long hours from our Past President; Pamela Baltzer and New President; Tim Lekhi. Most of the remainder of Council Members were occupied with committee work; Human Resources, VIC, Finance, Strategic Planning, Festivals and Events etc. (not to mention increased frequency of Council Meetings). Everything didn’t go perfectly, but we learned a lot.

The Council has made a concerted effort to use the By Laws and the Members Code of  Conduct to be their guide and to speak frankly at meetings to shed light on sometimes difficult subjects, that solutions may be revealed to the betterment of all. The Council acts primarily with the best interests in mind of those we are accountable to: Our Members.

Approval of Agenda: (JM)        Call to Order: (In Camera) 5:50pm.

                                                Resumption of meeting: 6:40pm.

Motion (LM):     The Board accepts the recommendation the HR Committee to renew the contracts of the Administrative Assistant; Renea Babineau and the VIC Campground Manager; Kandace Forward. (SCG) – Passed.

Motion (TR):     To allow the Administrative Assistant and the Campground Manager to attend Council Meetings and take an equivalent time off, when appropriate. (LM)
