Minutes of Lunenburg Board of Trade Council Meeting

5pm June 4; at the LBoT Boardroom

Present:           Claude Baril, Pamela Baltzer,  Susan Corkum-Greek, Katherine Eisenhauer, Tim Lekhi,Lynne MacKay.  Jamie Myra,  Alicia  VandeSande, Willie Wells, Eva Ziegler. Guests: Renea Babineau, Kandace Forward.

Call to order:    by President Tim Lekhi.  No time recorded

Motion: (LM)    To approve agenda and set adjournment for 7pm. – All in Favour.

Motion: (EZ)     Approval of minutes of the May 21 Board meeting. – All in Favour.

Business Arising:        Cellphone for LBoT office instead of Landline (PB): (Deferred from last  meeting). Investigate cordless from Costco. (Action item)

                                    Local Procurement of Goods and Serices (TL): (Deferred from last meeting) Write Stuff example: WW used 15% model for his business (1993-2004)

New Business:             Hot Water Heater suggestions for Campground (KF): Current heaters need to   be replaced. Options; Rent or Purchase?  Sources; Irving or West Nova? West Nova offers 50 gallon heater for $20/mo. (We now have 2 40 gallon heaters)

Motion: (JM)     To rent 2 50 gallon hot water heaters from West Nova Fuels as per quotation received by VIC campground manager – All in Favour.

                                    Distribution of Promotional Materials (RB)

Motion: (CB)     To allow LBoT Council Office and Boardroom  to be used as a dissemination point for promotional materials between area VICs as requested by Administrative Coordinator. All in Favour.

                                    Review of earlier Action Registry items (RB): The earlier items were read and   had their status confirmed and updated.

                        Plastics Free Lunenburg: Our Role: Get Facts. Facility Capacity, Market Opportunities,  What can they handle at Whynotts Settlement? Province is discouraging groups like PFL, Have our Brand being the Bag – Economies of Scale, Offering water refills at events and businesses.

                                    Changing frequency of Council Meetings (KE): Lunenburg is entering its busiest time of the year. To reflect this the Board Council will meet once per month until October. Suggested Meeting dates for that period, taking holidays into account, will be: July 9, August 13, September 10, and October 8.
