Discussion:  Chosen recipient is William Bowls from PVEC, Kandace will attend June 13th to present

Agenda Item:  Grants and Waterfront VIC                                                    Presenter: Kandace Forward

Discussion:  12 Grants have been received; they are $12,000 in total. The waterfront VIC is available to us. Usually, 8 staff to run it but we only have 5. Robin thinks it’s important for us to be there but has to look more professional than it does. Martin wondered what we offered as far as information. Kandace will look into this but also noted there’s no wifi.

Conclusions: Not this year but tell FM we want it next year

Agenda Item: Ads Media Solution / Tap N Be                                             Presenter: Kandace Forward

Discussion: Ads Media is listing in hotels, BOT website. Their price is $495

To be included in Yarmouth hotels it’s an additional $100

They are willing to do Set Sail in Lunenburg for free

For an additional $545 they will advertise in Halifax

Martin would like to see how many hits from our website we had vs Cindy’s website

Tap N Be: includes digital way finding. We’re using them for our maps. He charges $150 to sign up and $20 a month. Kandace says it’s a very valuable service.

Discussion: July 13th from 10-4. We need community donations.

We have $1000 budget

Jane will take letters to businesses

How can we spruce it up? Buskers, Art theme?

Agenda Item: Security/ wifi/ Theft claim                                                      Presenter: Robin Joost

Discussion: We have had theft through the winter, security cameras are needed. Also our wifi is a complaint from campers. $1800 from local business wifi and security cameras from Amazon. We will book Telli Tech Guy to come.

Agenda Item:  Membership and Marketing levy.               Presenter: Robin Joost

Discussion:

Having problems with membership not being paid, 40 businesses in total

Robin decided they should be called and can’t be on the map without payment

Martin suggested they don’t get benefits but keep them on the map this year

Marketing Levy- we need to stress this is provincially and not us. Kandace will talk to town to see when this is happening.

Agenda Item: Lunenburg Queen Excellence Awards.                      Presenter: Kandace Forward

Dates for this is November 21/2024, Kandace sits on a collective board of Lunenburg, Chester, Bridgewater, Queens.

This board needs nominations of businesses (you can nominate yourself)

Information has been sent out to every business

Adam will buy a table and sponsor this event
