We didn’t have time to decide, we will put this off until after AGM

Agenda Item: Zero Hunger Fund                                                                      Presenter: Penny Day

Discussion:

Zero Hunger Fund is a public charitable foundation that provides food to schools to distribute to needy families. They also work with Red Cross and municipalities to find out where need is.

Bruce Gunthro was a founder but now Dave Gunning has taken his place and is available to do concerts to raise money

The foundation is asking for a donation of $5000 to sponsor a school

·         Campground revenue is up

·         Kandace thinks increasing fees 10% would result in an additional 28,000 for 2025

·         She suggested turning hut into a room to rent and call it a roof tent

·         Belliveau is ready for AGM on January 22, 2025 at Bluenose Lodge at 6pm

·         Several seats available

·         Two people that are interested are James Dean and Abby Levy

·         Kandace to put out an email to invite any other interested people. They would be nominated at AGM

Agenda Item: Campground Lease            Presenter: Kandace Forward

·         Seeking 5 year lease. Our current lease ends the end of March

·         Kandace will negotiate with town to ask what can be included in lease ( plowing, lawn care)

·         Raising fees by 10% will cover lease

·         We’ll be able to apply for grants with a 5yr lease

·         Met with Curtis about electrical upgrade

·         NSP is coming to assess upgrade to 50amps

·         Asked Tyson ( town Engineer) for upgrades so all sites have sewage

·         Some thoughts about putting in a playground and an outdoor bbq

·         Install e charger

 Edward Music Solutions- sent a proposal to organize Oktoberfest 2025. Repeat of last year with Classified coming again

·         Decided to hire company and give 50% down payment of $2500

·         Filed for Tree Canada- will find out results in March

·         Filed for employment grants ( to qualify we have to pay above minimum wage]

·         They would like to do a presentation on January 15th to businesses

·         Host in the museum

·         On January 29, 30 course is being offered for any employees

·         10 week course, looking for at least 12 students
